In a significant step toward addressing rural water needs, Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh has facilitated the approval of ₹99.36 lakh for the drilling of new borewells in 44 villages under the Rajnandgaon development block. This initiative, funded through the Revenue Head of the Chhattisgarh State Rural and Other Backward Classes Area Development Authority, is aimed at bolstering the availability of potable water ahead of the scorching summer season.

The sanctioned villages include Paneka, Bankel, Farhad, Sukuldaihan, Bori, Dilapahari, Bamhnipuri, Bhanpuri, Gathula, Dharmapur, Bargahi, Bhedikala, Bagtarai, Parrikala, Ira, Kakrel, Thekwa, Magarlota, Khuteri, Thakurtola, Parmalkasa, Dheeri, Phuljhar, Farhad (second mention), Mouhabhatha, Torankatta, Manki, Indawani, Baigatola, Sundra, Somni, Tedesra, Dhodiya, Kotrabhatha, Buchibharda, Arla, Usribodh, Mokhla, Mudpar, Bothiparkhurd, Ranitarai, Singhola, Surgi, and Bharregaon.

Villagers have expressed immense gratitude towards Dr. Singh for prioritizing their basic needs and ensuring access to clean drinking water. Many of these villages have been facing water shortages, especially during the summer months when groundwater levels drop significantly. The new borewells are expected to offer much-needed relief and improve overall public health and daily living conditions.

Speaking on the development, local leaders highlighted Dr. Singh’s continued commitment to rural welfare and his deep understanding of ground-level challenges. They noted that the funds would be allocated swiftly to initiate the borewell drilling process before water scarcity worsens.

Water security remains a key issue across rural India, and strategic investments such as this are critical to ensuring sustainable access. The state government’s proactive steps, along with support from dedicated leaders like Dr. Raman Singh, are setting an example in responsive governance and people-centric development.

As work begins in the identified villages, residents remain hopeful that this project will not only solve immediate drinking water needs but also pave the way for further infrastructure improvements in their communities.
