In a tragic case involving the death of a 13-year-old minor in the Gendatola police station area, police acted swiftly and arrested a tractor driver along with his associate. Both accused were produced before the court and subsequently sent to judicial custody.

Minor Reported Missing, Investigation Initiated

According to police information, complainant Raghuveer Singh Mandavi, a resident of village Matekheda, lodged a report stating that his minor son Bhavesh Mandavi had gone missing from home on April 30. During inquiries with family members, it was revealed that a villager, Jashwant Netam, had taken the child along in a tractor without informing the family.

Considering the seriousness of the matter, a special team was formed under the direction of Superintendent of Police Ms. Ankita Sharma, and an immediate investigation was launched.

Accident During Field Work Led to Death

During interrogation, accused Jashwant Netam disclosed that he was working on land levelling along with tractor owner Omprakash Sahu and had taken the minor with him to the field.

While soil loading and unloading operations were underway, the accused allegedly made the minor perform a risky task of opening the trolley hook. During this process, the tractor driver moved the vehicle forward and backward, causing the trolley to overturn. The child was trapped underneath and died on the spot.

Body Dumped to Conceal Evidence

After the incident, both accused allegedly attempted to hide evidence by placing the child’s body in the tractor trolley and dumping it in a field near village Keshotola, nearly three kilometres away from the accident site.

Acting on the accused’s disclosure, police recovered the body and completed necessary legal formalities before sending it for postmortem examination.

Vehicles and Equipment Worth Over ₹11 Lakh Seized

Police seized two tractors (including one loader), a trolley, and two mobile phones used in the incident. The total value of the seized materials is estimated at ₹11,77,560.

The arrested accused have been identified as Jashwant Netam (25) and Omprakash Sahu (35), both residents of village Matekheda. A case has been registered against them under relevant legal sections, and both have been remanded to judicial custody.

Police Team Played Key Role

Inspector Rajesh Sahu, Sub-Inspector Meghnath Sinha, Sub-Inspector Hemant Borkar, along with other members of the police team, played a significant role in carrying out the operation and investigation.
