Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached out to former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Raman Singh over the phone to inquire about his health and well-being, despite his packed national schedule. The gesture was widely appreciated and highlighted the long-standing personal rapport between the two leaders.
Dr. Raman Singh later shared the information through a post on social media, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the Prime Minister for his concern and warm wishes. In his message, Singh noted that despite being the Prime Minister of the country and managing an extremely busy schedule, Narendra Modi continues to maintain a personal connection with party workers and colleagues.
“His sense of affection, warmth and concern towards party members and associates is deeply inspiring for all of us,” Dr. Singh wrote in his post.
Dr. Raman Singh recently underwent a spine surgery in Coimbatore. Following the procedure, doctors have advised him to take complete rest for some time as part of his recovery process. He is currently recuperating and gradually regaining strength under medical supervision.

Due to his ongoing recovery, Dr. Singh has not been able to attend the current session of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly. BJP leader Abhishek Singh had earlier informed during a recent meeting that doctors had strictly advised the former Chief Minister to avoid strenuous activities and focus on rest, which is why he would not be participating in the ongoing assembly proceedings.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Dr. Raman Singh are known to share a long-standing political and personal relationship. Their association dates back to the time when Modi served as the Chief Minister of Gujarat while Raman Singh was leading Chhattisgarh as Chief Minister for three consecutive terms.
On several public occasions, Narendra Modi has openly acknowledged their bond, even stating from public platforms that he takes pride in calling Dr. Raman Singh his friend.
Dr. Singh’s social media post acknowledging the Prime Minister’s phone call has received a strong response from BJP workers and supporters, many of whom have wished the veteran leader a speedy recovery.
