In view of the upcoming Holi and Holika Dahan festivities, the Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited (CSPDCL), Rajnandgaon region, has appealed to citizens to observe strict electrical safety measures during celebrations.
The company has cautioned that lighting bonfires near electric poles, overhead lines, transformers, and substations can lead to serious electrical accidents. Throwing water, colors, or other materials on power infrastructure during Holi may also pose significant risks to public safety and disrupt power supply.

Executive Director Shirish Selat of the Rajnandgaon region informed that field officers and staff have been directed to remain alert to prevent potential electrical mishaps and to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the festival. Despite the holiday, all electricity complaint centers will remain fully operational to address consumer grievances promptly.
He further stated that complaint centers in Rajnandgaon, Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki, Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai, and Kabirdham districts will function as usual. Consumers can report electricity-related issues through the 24×7 Central Call Center by dialing 1912, available in Hindi, English, and Chhattisgarhi.

Additionally, complaints regarding power outages, transformer faults, or other issues can be registered via the “Bijli Mitan” WhatsApp number 9425551912 and through the “Mor Bijli App.”
The power utility has urged citizens not to throw colors or water on electric lines and to keep a close watch on children during the festivities. In case of snapped wires or any electrical hazard, residents are advised to immediately inform the nearest electricity office.
According to the department, a small measure of caution by the public can help prevent accidents and ensure that the festival of colors is celebrated safely and without disruption.
