In preparation for the upcoming Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations, Rajnandgaon Collector Shri Jitendra Yadav chaired a meeting of school principals at the District Panchayat auditorium, calling for mission-mode implementation of targeted action plans to improve student performance.

Emphasising the need for focused academic support, the Collector said special attention must be given to subjects in which students are weak. He directed principals to organise additional classes for struggling learners and to engage subject experts wherever required. A detailed institution-wise review of student progress was also conducted during the meeting.

Expressing displeasure over unsatisfactory pre-board results, the Collector ordered issuance of show-cause notices to principals of schools where performance remained poor. He made it clear that accountability would be fixed if board results do not improve, stressing that student outcomes must be treated as a top administrative priority.

During the review, poor Class 10 results in Chhuria and Dongargaon blocks led to instructions for show-cause notices to principals of Higher Secondary Schools at Chando, Bakhrutola, Ramtarai, and Halekosa. In Dongargaon block, Rudgaon Boys, Dongargaon, and Bakal schools were also directed to be served notices.

For Class 12, institutions in Chhuria block were flagged for action due to unsatisfactory performance, while Mohad Boys School in Dongargaon block was similarly identified. In Dongargarh block, schools including Girls Dongargarh, Bilhari, Dhara, Paragaon Khurd, and Madiyan were instructed to receive show-cause notices. The Collector also expressed strong displeasure over Paragaon Khurd’s results and directed immediate action against the concerned principal.

In Rajnandgaon block, schools at Somni, State High School, Maharani Laxmibai Higher Secondary School, Dr. Baldev Prasad Higher Secondary School, Bori, Kanharpuri, and Dilapahri were also listed for show-cause notices due to weak academic outcomes.

District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Ms. Suruchi Singh urged principals to prepare concrete strategies for improving results of academically weaker students and to utilise services of expert teachers. She emphasised conducting additional classes during the remaining days before the board exams.

OIC Shri Vishwas Kumar advised schools to enrol students in zonal coaching and residential coaching programmes and to motivate parents to actively support their children’s preparation.

District Education Officer Shri Pravas Singh Baghel informed that 22 academic zones have been created across the district, with special remedial classes for weak and pre-board-failed students set to begin from January 31. He also announced that from February 2, residential coaching for the district’s top 100 students will commence at the Barga Training Centre, aiming to secure positions in the state merit list and enhance the district’s overall board performance.

He further instructed all institution heads to immediately complete teacher registration and initiate biometric attendance systems. Special monitoring of underperforming schools during the next 20 days was also directed, along with focused efforts to increase the number of high-performing students.

Officials reiterated that coordinated efforts at every level—through zonal coaching, residential programmes, and intensive classroom support—are essential to achieving improved board results this academic session. Education department officers and school principals were present at the meeting.
