At the district-level Republic Day main ceremony held at Digvijay Stadium, Rajnandgaon, the Agriculture Department’s mobile tableau was adjudged first among all participating departments. The award-winning presentation focused on government welfare schemes for farmers while promoting sustainable and environmentally responsible agricultural practices.
Designed with minimal use of plastic to reduce environmental impact, the tableau effectively showcased a wide range of flagship initiatives aimed at improving farmers’ livelihoods and strengthening the agricultural ecosystem.
Key highlights included the Krishak Unnati Yojana, under which paddy procurement is carried out at ₹3,100 per quintal with purchases up to 21 quintals per acre, along with the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, which supports farmers’ financial stability. The tableau also featured the Namo Drone Didi initiative, demonstrating how women farmers are being empowered with technical skills and new income opportunities through drone-based agricultural services.

Visitors were introduced to various dimensions of natural farming practices, the Pradhan Mantri Annadata Aay Sanrakshan Abhiyan (PM-AASHA) for procurement of pulses and oilseeds at Minimum Support Price, and the Soil Health Card Scheme, highlighting laboratory-based soil testing for scientific crop management.
Other prominently displayed programmes included the National Food Security Scheme, National Mission on Natural Farming, and the Oilseed Mission, aimed at expanding oilseed cultivation. The tableau also presented an integrated farming system with live demonstrations of pulses, oilseeds, millets, floriculture, and short-duration paddy cultivation.

In addition to promoting agricultural development, the tableau carried strong environmental messages. It depicted the harmful effects of toxic smoke caused by stubble burning on human health, as well as the long-term burden on the earth due to excessive groundwater extraction and unregulated irrigation without adequate water conservation. These symbolic representations were intended to raise public awareness about sustainable resource use.
The Agriculture Department’s comprehensive presentation successfully blended policy awareness, farmer empowerment, and environmental responsibility, earning widespread appreciation from citizens and officials alike. The first-place recognition reflects the department’s efforts to communicate government initiatives creatively while encouraging climate-resilient and sustainable agriculture at the grassroots level.
