Free Cancer Screening and Consultation Camp to Be Held at Govt Medical College Pendri from Jan 19–25

District Health Committee Rajnandgaon and Balco Medical Centre to offer mammography, oral cancer tests and gynecological screenings under “Suraksha Chakra”

Under the Suraksha Chakra initiative, a free cancer screening and consultation camp will be organized at Government Medical College, Pendri, Rajnandgaon, from January 19 to January 25, 2026. The camp will run daily from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm and is being jointly conducted by the District Health Committee Rajnandgaon and Balco Medical Centre, Naya Raipur.

The camp aims to promote early detection of cancer and provide timely medical guidance to citizens. Facilities available during the camp include mammography services, oral cancer screening through brush cytology, gynecological examinations including Pap smear tests, and other essential diagnostic services.

A team of experienced cancer specialists, including Dr. Rajendra Prasad Patel, Dr. Palak Agrawal, Dr. Diwakar Pandey, Dr. Meena Armo, and Dr. Sunita Meshram, along with other medical professionals, will conduct health examinations and provide expert consultations.

Health officials stated that symptoms such as lumps or abnormal swelling in the breast, changes in the mouth or hoarseness of voice, difficulty in swallowing, persistent cough or headaches, non-healing ulcers or wounds, frequent fever or infections, anemia, sickle cell anemia, thalassemia, blood-related disorders, skin changes, unexplained weight loss, changes in bowel or urinary habits, and irregular menstrual cycles or lower abdominal pain could indicate early signs of cancer. Citizens experiencing any of these symptoms are encouraged to attend the camp for evaluation.
