Rajnandgaon Exhibition Records Sales Worth ₹88,200 — A Testament to Women’s Entrepreneurship and Rural Empowerment

As part of the Chhattisgarh Rajat Mahotsav (Silver Jubilee Celebration), the Panchayat and Rural Development Department has launched a special week-long program from October 13 to 26, 2025. Under this initiative, a sales-cum-exhibition was organized today in the Collectorate premises of Rajnandgaon, in front of the District Panchayat office, featuring high-quality products crafted and produced by women members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) associated with the Chhattisgarh State Rural Livelihood Mission – Bihan.

The event brought together SHG representatives from all development blocks of the district, who showcased a diverse range of handmade and locally produced items through dedicated stalls. The exhibition witnessed an enthusiastic response from the general public, government officers, and employees, who not only appreciated the quality of products but also made purchases in large numbers.

In total, 50 women SHGs and entrepreneurs participated in the exhibition, displaying and selling a wide array of items including pickles, spices, A2 ghee (Bharat Mata Sankul), gram dal (Swarn-Upaj FPC), incense sticks, candles, nursery plants, bamboo crafts, artificial jewelry, worship materials (Sakhi Sankul Somni), papad, badi, fancy accessories, sarees, and handmade bags.

The exhibition resulted in total sales worth ₹88,200, marking a strong display of women’s self-reliance and rural entrepreneurship. The event also highlighted the growing demand for locally made, quality products produced under the Bihan Mission.

Officials and visitors praised the efforts of SHG women and encouraged them to continue their journey toward economic empowerment and sustainable livelihoods.
