Tears rolled down Ram Pyari’s cheeks as she touched the cool marble floor of the newly-inaugurated “Vishwas” Patient Attendant Rest Shelter. For 38 hours, the 60-year-old from Chitrakoot had slept on a gunny bag outside the Central Hospital gate, waiting for her grandson’s dengue treatment.

Yesterday, she slept on a cushioned bunk under a ceiling fan.Built at a cost of ₹4.8 crore on the hospital campus, the three-storey shelter was jointly unveiled by Divisional Railway Manager Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay and Prayagraj Mayor Ganesh Kesarwani.
