Chhattisgarh’s industrial development is moving beyond raw material production towards the manufacturing of finished products. The groundbreaking ceremony for Yash Fans’ new manufacturing plant in Nava Raipur, held on Friday in the presence of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, marks an important step in this transition. With an investment of ₹152.74 crore, the plant is expected to generate employment for around 3,500 people. It will be the state’s first consumer electronics manufacturing plant.
The state government’s Industrial Development Policy 2024–30 focuses on attracting investment while expanding employment opportunities. The Yash Fans project is an important step in this direction. Once operational, the plant is expected to create jobs for young people across the state. Industrial expansion of this kind could also open up employment opportunities for youth from Bastar and other tribal-dominated and remote regions. Connecting local youth with skill development programmes and recruitment opportunities will be important to ensure that they benefit from this growth.
Chief Minister Sai said providing employment to the youth was the state government’s highest priority. The industrial policy has been designed to attract investment, strengthen manufacturing and create more job opportunities for local people. He said the plant would help Chhattisgarh establish a new identity in consumer electronics manufacturing.

Products for Leading Brands to Be Manufactured in Chhattisgarh
Hyderabad-based Yash Fans manufactures electric fans and kitchen appliances. The company produces products for leading brands such as Crompton, Havells, Usha and Milton. With the establishment of the Nava Raipur plant, products for these brands will also be manufactured in Chhattisgarh. This will introduce a new segment to the state’s industrial landscape and expand its manufacturing base.
The benefits of the project are expected to extend beyond direct employment at the plant. Businesses involved in component supply, packaging, transportation and other support services could also gain new opportunities. Local entrepreneurs may benefit from increased business activity, while the growth of ancillary industries could generate additional employment.
From Steel and Aluminium to Finished Products
Chhattisgarh has long been recognised as one of India’s major producers of steel, coal and power. The state is now focusing on linking its industrial resources with the manufacturing of finished products. The Yash Fans plant represents an important step in this direction. Using steel and aluminium to manufacture finished goods within the state will promote local value addition and strengthen the industrial economy.
Yash Fans Chairman Ritesh Naredi said Chhattisgarh was an ideal location for the company’s manufacturing expansion. The availability of raw materials, a favourable geographical location for serving markets across India, a hardworking workforce and government support were key advantages for the company. Yash Fans currently operates 12 manufacturing plants across Hyderabad and Himachal Pradesh. The Nava Raipur facility will be its first manufacturing unit in Chhattisgarh.

‘Made in Chhattisgarh’ to Gain a New Identity
The Chief Minister said Chhattisgarh had long contributed to India’s industrial growth through steel, coal and power. The state was now expanding its role in manufacturing finished products. Welcoming Yash Fans to Chhattisgarh, he assured the company of the state government’s full support. The initiative is aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Make in India’.
The establishment of the plant in Nava Raipur is expected to give fresh momentum to Chhattisgarh’s industrial development. Linking investment with local employment, skill development and the participation of small businesses will be important to maximising the project’s benefits. This approach could create new opportunities for the state’s youth while strengthening the wider economy.
The ceremony was attended by Lakhan Lal Dewangan, Minister for Commerce and Industries; O.P. Choudhary, Minister for Housing and Environment; and Rajeev Agrawal, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation (CSIDC), along with other public representatives and officials.
