PIB Raipur organizes media workshop in Kawardha highlighting rural transformation, livelihood enhancement, and guaranteed employment under VBG-RAM-G

In a significant push toward strengthening rural livelihoods and advancing the vision of a developed India, the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Raipur, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, organized a one-day media workshop in Kawardha on the theme “VBG-RAM-G: Transformative Change in Rural India.”
The workshop witnessed the presence of Vice Chairman of the Chhattisgarh State Policy Commission, Ganesh Shankar Mishra, as the Chief Guest, while Kawardha District Collector Gopal Verma attended as the Guest of Honour. The event brought together media representatives from print, electronic, and digital platforms to deliberate on the impact and outreach of government initiatives in rural areas.

Addressing the gathering, Mishra emphasized that VBG-RAM-G is not merely an employment-generating scheme but a comprehensive initiative aimed at transforming the entire rural livelihood ecosystem. He noted that the scheme has been carefully designed to avoid disruption of agricultural cycles, incorporating a dedicated 60-day block to ensure that farmers are not adversely affected during crucial harvesting seasons.

Highlighting the broader significance of the initiative, Mishra pointed out that over 73 percent of India’s population resides in rural areas, making such schemes vital for strengthening the rural economy. He further stated that the initiative aligns closely with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047,” positioning it as a key pillar in achieving long-term inclusive growth.
Providing insights into the ground-level implementation, District Collector Gopal Verma informed participants that the scheme guarantees 125 days of employment to rural households, thereby enhancing income security and reducing distress migration.

The workshop concluded with an interactive session involving local journalists, focusing on the critical role of media in disseminating information about government welfare schemes to the masses. Participants actively engaged in discussions on improving outreach and ensuring that benefits reach the intended beneficiaries.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from media professionals across Kawardha district, reflecting growing interest in rural development initiatives and their transformative potential.
