Reacting to the Union Budget 2026 presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, BJP North Mandal President Sumit Singh Bhatia on Tuesday described it as a decisive step towards building a developed and self-reliant India.

Addressing a press conference, Bhatia said Budget 2026 is essentially a “youth budget” that aims to translate the dreams of Viksit Bharat and Atmanirbhar Bharat into reality.

“This budget lays the foundation for India’s golden future. Keeping every section of society in mind, the Modi government and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman have presented a forward-looking roadmap with special emphasis on youth empowerment,” he said.

Highlighting key provisions, Bhatia stated that initiatives such as the Orange Economy, tourism promotion and the Khelo India Mission will open new avenues of employment and entrepreneurship for young people. He also welcomed the decision to establish girls’ hostels in every district, calling it a major step towards strengthening education access for daughters across the country.

He further pointed to the strong push given to sunrise sectors, including Rare Earth Corridors, Critical Minerals, textiles and high-tech tool manufacturing, saying these measures align with both present needs and future aspirations of the nation.

“The emphasis on strengthening infrastructure through high-speed rail corridors and focused development of Tier-II and Tier-III cities will accelerate India’s growth journey,” Bhatia added.

Calling citizens the country’s greatest asset, he said the Modi government has prioritised investment in people through this historic budget.

“The government’s effort is clearly directed towards strengthening skill, scale and stability. This budget reflects a comprehensive vision where development is driven by empowered citizens,” he remarked.

Summing up, Bhatia said Union Budget 2026 represents a balanced blend of growth, opportunity and long-term stability, reinforcing India’s march towards becoming a global economic powerhouse.
