BJP District President says PMAY (Urban) 2.0 will help thousands of poor and middle-class families realise dream of owning a permanent home

Bharatiya Janata Party District President Komal Singh Rajput has described the Chhattisgarh government’s latest order under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0 as a major relief for eligible urban beneficiaries. Under the new provisions, families occupying land prior to August 31, 2024, will now be included in the scheme and provided financial assistance for house construction.
Rajput said that many middle-class families living in slums, LIG and MIG houses are unable to build their own homes due to financial constraints. He termed the BJP government’s move a sensitive and people-centric initiative, bringing new hope to thousands of poor and needy families who have been nurturing the dream of a permanent home for years.
He informed that eligible beneficiaries will receive central assistance of ₹2.5 lakh, interest subsidy of ₹1.80 lakh, and housing loans up to ₹25 lakh under the EWS category. Those fulfilling land documentation and eligibility criteria will now be able to avail benefits under PMAY (Urban) 2.0.
Rajput said the decision clearly reflects the BJP government’s commitment towards the poor, deprived and homeless sections of society. To ensure smooth implementation, local bodies have been directed to issue required certificates, simplifying procedures so that beneficiaries do not face unnecessary hurdles.

Calling it a true reflection of the vision “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas,” Rajput stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Chhattisgarh is witnessing effective implementation of welfare schemes, and this decision is another strong example of that commitment.
Launching a sharp attack on Congress, Rajput said the party neither possesses such vision nor the capability to execute people-oriented policies. He alleged that during the previous Congress regime, lakhs of families were deprived of housing benefits, as the state government failed to provide its share, leaving beneficiaries stranded.
He added that after the BJP came to power, construction of nearly 18 lakh PM Awas houses has been completed in Chhattisgarh, and now PMAY 2.0 has also been launched, further strengthening housing support for the urban poor.
The district BJP expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai for their far-sighted leadership. Special appreciation was also extended to Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh, noting that PM Awas Yojana is being implemented successfully in his constituency, setting new benchmarks for housing development.
