It is noteworthy that the Ullas Nav Bharat Literacy Programme is being implemented in line with the recommendations of the National Education Policy 2020. Under the initiative, illiterate individuals aged above 15 years from rural and urban wards are identified and taught by volunteer educators. After completing the learning cycle, assessment examinations are conducted, and successful learners receive certificates issued by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), Noida, New Delhi.

The programme aims to empower adults who were deprived of education due to various reasons by equipping them with numeracy skills, life competencies and essential everyday knowledge, ultimately integrating them into mainstream learning and social participation.
