Devotees to Gather in Large Numbers for Spiritual Festivities, Sunderkand Recital and Grand Guru Procession

The Barfani Sevashram Committee has commenced a two-day Guru Purnima Mahotsav at the sacred Barfani Dham from Wednesday, July 9, under the divine inspiration and blessings of the revered saint Shri Shri 1011 Yogadhiraj Brahmarshi Barfani Dada Ji. The spiritual celebration is expected to draw thousands of devotees and members of the Guru family from across the region and beyond.
According to the Committee Secretary Ganesh Prasad Sharma ‘Gannu’, the spiritual complex houses the sanctum of Goddess Patal Bhairavi, Raj Rajeshwari Tripura Sundari, the Ten Mahavidyas, Lord Shiva, and all twelve Jyotirlingas, all established under the divine guidance of Barfani Dada Ji. The ashram is also home to the region’s largest sphatik and parad Shivling, drawing pilgrims and spiritual seekers year-round.

The festivities began on July 9 (Ashadha Shukla Chaturdashi) at 4 PM with soulful renditions of Sunderkand, Hanuman Chalisa, and devotional bhajans by women’s groups from Durg. On Guru Purnima day (July 10), the celebrations will commence at 8 AM with a grand Palki Yatra (procession) of Guru Dada Ji across the ashram premises. This will be followed by ceremonial worship including Panchamrit, Gangajal, milk abhishek, and grand aarti.
Renowned Bhajan singer Kanha Maharaj from Bhilai will lead a spiritual session from 10 AM, singing bhajans, chanting Hanuman Chalisa, and praising the glory of the Guru.
The organizing committee has assigned specific responsibilities to ensure smooth execution of the event. Preparations are being led by President Rajesh Maru, Vice President Deepak Joshi, Secretary Ganesh Prasad Sharma ‘Gannu’, Treasurer Neelam Jain, along with Mahant Govind Das and members including Mahendra Luniya, Alok Joshi, Suraj Joshi, Kulbir Chhabra, Alok Bindal, Yogendra Pandey, Kamlesh Simankar, Santosh Khandelwal, Damodar Agrawal, Liladhar Singh, Balwinder Singh Bhatia, Manish Parmar, and Sanjay Khandelwal.
The Guru Purnima Mahotsav at Barfani Ashram continues to serve as a powerful symbol of faith, devotion, and collective spiritual awakening.
