A two-day advanced training programme for handloom weavers was organized in Gram Sukul Daihan of Rajnandgaon block under the RAMP (Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance) scheme of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India. The training was specifically designed for weavers who had completed earlier basic training and obtained Udyam registration, with the objective of enhancing their technical, marketing, and entrepreneurial capabilities.

The programme was conducted jointly by the District Trade and Industry Centre and Choice Consultancy Services, focusing on equipping traditional artisans with modern business tools and market access strategies. On the first day, participants were trained in digital platforms, business branding, and online marketing techniques. Officials provided guidance on registration on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal to enable weavers to supply products directly to government departments.

Participants were also informed about opportunities to expand their customer base through major e-commerce platforms such as Amazon and Flipkart, along with strategies for developing effective business models and strengthening brand value to achieve sustainable growth.

On the second day, the training focused on financial assistance schemes, including the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), covering loan application procedures, subsidy provisions, and documentation requirements. Trainers encouraged weavers to leverage the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative to position their traditional products as a unique identity of the district and attract larger markets and investment.

Participants were also guided on preparing scalable business plans and promoting them among investors and institutional buyers to enhance income opportunities. The sessions were conducted by master trainer Prakriti Gautam, district coordinator Bhavyajeet Gautam, and trainer Tuleshwar Sarva, who provided practical insights and interactive guidance to the artisans.

Choice Consultancy Services representatives also announced that a three-day sector-specific training programme for entrepreneurs associated with the iron and steel sector will be organized in the near future. Interested individuals can contact the District Trade and Industry Centre, Rajnandgaon, for registration and further details.

Officials stated that such initiatives aim to empower rural artisans through skill upgradation, digital integration, and better access to financial resources, ultimately strengthening local entrepreneurship and employment generation.
