Rajnandgaon district has exceeded its seed production registration target under the Rabi 2025–26 Seed Production Programme, achieving coverage of 1,146 hectares against the prescribed target of 1,000 hectares. Officials said the milestone reflects strong farmer participation and focused efforts by the Agriculture Department to promote certified seed production, particularly in pulses and oilseeds.

School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav on Wednesday said Chhattisgarh has achieved its most significant development in the energy sector over the past 25 years, transforming citizens’ lives and accelerating agricultural and industrial growth. Reacting to the Union Budget 2026–27, a retired ITBP Commandant and Indian Navy veteran has termed the budget strategically sound and security-conscious, noting that while Chhattisgarh received no direct allocation, enhanced capital expenditure, defence modernisation, and social sector spending offer significant indirect opportunities—provided the state proactively aligns local priorities with central schemes.

Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh on Republic Day inaugurated a journalists’ residential complex built over 10 acres in Rajnandgaon, calling it a shining example of unity and collective effort within the media fraternity. The project, valued at ₹3.79 crore, will provide homes to 141 journalists, while additional water infrastructure works worth ₹49 lakh were also launched.

Reaffirming its commitment to farmers, the state government has accelerated paddy procurement under the Kharif Marketing Year 2025–26, with over 23.48 lakh farmers already selling their produce and payments exceeding ₹29,597 crore. With daily procurement touching 3 lakh metric tonnes, authorities plan to issue more than 70,000 tokens in the next three days to facilitate further sales.

The Congress, led by district president Vipin Yadav, submitted a memorandum at the Rajnandgaon Collectorate demanding policy corrections, relief for farmers and a public apology from the state government over administrative failures in paddy procurement and rural welfare schemes.
