Swachhata Hi Seva–Swachhotsav Campaign Launched in Rajnandgaon

Collector urges citizens to adopt cleanliness as a lifestyle; pledge programs and awareness drives held across villages and panchayats

Under the leadership of Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure, the district has launched the Swachhata Hi Seva–Swachhotsav Campaign, which will run from September 17 to October 2, 2025. The initiative aims to spread awareness about cleanliness through a series of events across development blocks and gram panchayats, transforming the campaign into a mass movement.

Speaking at the launch, Collector Dr. Bhure emphasized that cleanliness is not merely a campaign but the foundation of a healthy and prosperous society. “Cleanliness must become a way of life. Every citizen’s participation is essential to make this initiative impactful and sustainable,” he said.

Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat, Smt. Suruchi Singh, informed that continuous cleanliness activities will be carried out in villages throughout the campaign, ensuring maximum public involvement. The campaign commenced with Swachhta Pledge ceremonies in every development block and panchayat. At Gram Panchayat Ari, District Panchayat President Smt. Jagruti Chunni Yadu led the oath-taking, while in Gram Panchayat Bodela, Dongargaon Janpad Panchayat President Smt. Jaya Timesh Sahu led the pledge program.

District Coordinator Dr. Chhote Lal Sahu stated that the campaign will include rallies, shramdaan (voluntary labor for cleaning), solid and liquid waste management activities, street plays, cultural programs, wall writings, and mass awareness initiatives until October 2.

The district-wide launch of the campaign spread a strong message of cleanliness, with villagers pledging active cooperation to keep their homes, streets, and neighborhoods clean, making the Swachhotsav a true community-driven movement.
