The Election Commission of India (ECI), New Delhi, has announced the second phase of the Special Intensive Revision of the Voter List from October 27, 2025. In this regard, a meeting was held today at the District Office under the chairmanship of Collector Smt. Tulika Prajapati to inform representatives of political parties about the schedule prescribed by the Commission.

During the meeting, the Collector explained the detailed timeline of various stages including printing and training, house-to-house enumeration, publication of the draft voter list, claims and objections period, verification, and final publication of the electoral roll. She informed that printing and training will take place from October 28 to November 3, house-to-house enumeration from November 4 to December 4, draft voter list publication on December 9, claims and objections period from December 9 to January 8, verification and hearings from December 9 to January 31, and final voter list publication on February 7, 2026.

Collector Prajapati stated that the primary objective of this intensive revision is to ensure that every eligible citizen is included in the voter list and every ineligible entry is removed. As per Article 326 of the Constitution of India, a person must be a citizen of India, 18 years of age or above, and an ordinary resident of the constituency to be enrolled as a voter. She informed that the last major revision of this scale was conducted between 2002 and 2004, and in Chhattisgarh, the process was completed in 2003. She also confirmed that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have been appointed at all polling stations.

The Collector further reviewed key tasks to be undertaken during the revision, including comparison of the 2003 voter list with the present one, verification via the BLO App, issuance of enumeration forms, and door-to-door visits. BLOs will visit households at least three times to ensure no eligible voter is left out. Voters can also download and submit their enumeration forms themselves, especially those temporarily away from their residence.
