Public Engages with Government Welfare Schemes through Information Stalls at the Celebration Venue

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Chhattisgarh’s statehood, Rajyotsav 2025 is being celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Sarveshwardas Municipal Higher Secondary School (Municipal School Ground) in Rajnandgaon. On this occasion, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Dr. Raman Singh, visited and reviewed the departmental stalls and exhibitions showcasing various public welfare schemes of the state government.

At the Public Relations Department stall, citizens were provided information about major government welfare initiatives. Publications including Chhattisgarh Janman magazine, Chhattisgarh mein Sushasan ke Navachar brochure, Viksit Bharat ki Aur Badhte Kadam, and Chhattisgarh Rajat Mahotsav booklet were distributed free of cost. A photo exhibition highlighted various campaigns run by the state government and district administration.

The Women and Child Development Department stall raised awareness about the Poth Laika initiative and child nutrition. Displays of millet-based dishes, traditional vegetables, and “Tiranga Bhojan” nutrition plates were arranged. Visitors were also informed about the Child Marriage-Free Chhattisgarh campaign.

At the Agriculture Department stall, farmers were encouraged to adopt crop diversification, promoting low-water crops in place of paddy during the Rabi season. Products of women’s self-help groups such as ragi, kodo, mustard oil, and organic rice were available for sale. In the Kisan Pathshala, farmers were educated on improved cultivation techniques for chickpea and maize, organic farming, and the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. Demonstrations of modern agricultural equipment were also provided.

The Horticulture Department provided guidance on the cultivation of marigold, capsicum, banana, papaya, brinjal, tomato, and other horticultural crops, encouraging farmers to adopt crop rotation for improved productivity.

The Education Department stall displayed a model of Chandrayaan-3 and showcased a project on absorbing methane gas to reduce pollution. Students were informed about various educational schemes of the government.

The National Rural Livelihood Mission (Bihan) stall featured traditional Chhattisgarhi food items including Chila, Fara, Chausela, Airsa, and Thethri-Khurmi for visitors.

The CSEB stall provided information on the PM Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme, encouraging public participation. The Police Department created awareness on cyber safety, road safety, and showcased various firearms. The Transport Department offered on-site services for Learning Licenses and High-Security Number Plates.

The Health Department stall provided information regarding Ayushman Cards, the TB-Free India Mission, National Sickle Cell Elimination Programme, and maternal health services, along with free sugar and blood pressure testing.

Stalls by Social Welfare, CREDA, Tribal Welfare, Animal Husbandry, Forest, Legal Aid, PHED, Industries, Water Resources, Silk Development, Urban Bodies, Fisheries, and other departments also informed visitors about ongoing welfare schemes and public benefit programs.
