Schools to be Renovated Before Admissions, Summer Camps to Continue: Collector’s Directives

  • Schools to Complete Repairs Before June 16 Admission Deadline
  • Sports Activities to Be Introduced in Selected Schools
  • Annual Summer Camp to Be Conducted for Students’ Holistic Development

Rajnandgaon (BTI)- Collector Sanjay Agarwal chaired a meeting with the Education Department at the district collectorate today, issuing several key directives to improve school infrastructure, sports activities, and student engagement programs.

Schools to Complete Essential Repairs Before June 16

Ahead of the academic session starting on June 16, the Collector instructed officials to ensure all schools undergo necessary repairs before reopening. This includes painting, toilet repairs, drinking water facilities, and additional classroom construction as per requirements.

Furthermore, he directed authorities to issue caste and residence certificates for students before school admissions, ensuring a hassle-free enrollment process.

Promoting Sports for Student Development

To encourage physical fitness and career-oriented sports, Collector Agarwal emphasized the identification of schools where sports activities could be developed. He urged teachers to identify students’ interests in various sports and provide them with the necessary training to help them build a career in the field.

“Physical activity is essential in schools, and students should be supported in excelling in their chosen sports,” he said. Regular health monitoring of students was also suggested as part of the initiative.

Summer Camp to be Organized Again This Year

Building on the success of last year’s Summer Camp, the Collector directed officials to organize another camp this year, ensuring it provides an enriching experience for students.

“Summer camps are a great way to discover and nurture students’ hidden talents. Every child possesses unique abilities, and it is our responsibility to encourage them and help them enhance their skills,” he stated.

This year, the camp will include creative and skill-based activities such as:

  • Road Safety Awareness
  • Preventing Cyber Fraud
  • Community Development Initiatives
  • Water Conservation and Tree Plantation Projects

He stressed the importance of physical, cultural, and social activities in the camp, as they contribute to a child’s overall personality development. Children will also be educated on environmental conservation and the importance of afforestation.

Training Plan for Career-Oriented Sports

District Education Officer Pravas Baghel informed that specific schools have been identified for sports training. He announced that students will receive professional coaching in sports like wrestling, volleyball, boxing, judo, table tennis, handball, football, athletics, archery, and kabaddi.

To ensure proper implementation, a structured training plan is being developed, with specialized coaches and trainers to help students excel in their chosen sports.

Participation of Officials

The meeting was attended by Assistant Director Aditya Khare, District Mission Coordinator Satish Byohare, APC Adarsh Vasnik, Block Education Officers, Principals, Physical Training Instructors (PTIs), and other teachers.

With these initiatives, the district administration aims to enhance the overall learning environment by improving school infrastructure, promoting sports, and fostering creativity among students.
