Rajnandgaon: The ongoing Shrimad Bhagwat Katha and devotional sankirtan being held at Mokhla village from January 4 to January 12 reached a spiritually vibrant peak on its sixth day, as devotees witnessed the emotional and divine narration of the Rukmini–Krishna wedding along with Govardhan Puja. The programme was marked by deep devotion, cultural fervour, and enthusiastic participation from villagers and devotees of nearby areas.
The discourse, which formally commenced on January 11 at 11 am, is being delivered by renowned storyteller Pandit Raju Maharaj (Chandrakant Sharma). While narrating the divine leela of Rukmini–Krishna Vivah, Pandit Raju Maharaj emphasised that marriage is not merely a social arrangement but a sacred sacrament that must be performed in accordance with auspicious timings, values, and traditional Vedic rituals.

Addressing contemporary social practices, he also highlighted the growing trend of late-night marriages and urged people to adhere to scriptural traditions. He stated that marriages performed as per shastric injunctions bring harmony, peace, and prosperity in life.
During the symbolic enactment of the divine wedding, devotees emotionally connected with the divine forms of Lord Krishna and Goddess Rukmini, participating with deep reverence. Following the wedding ritual, the traditional ‘Tikavan’ ceremony of the Lord was organised, during which devotees offered ceremonial gifts amid melodious bhajans and auspicious wedding songs. The entire pandal resonated with devotional chants and joyous celebrations.
The main yajmans of the sacred event include Mehtaram Sahu, Loknath Sahu, Suruj Sahu, Bhojlal Sahu, and Pushpa Sahu.
