District Receives 72.1 mm Rainfall on July 3; Rajnandgaon Tehsil Sees Highest Cumulative Rainfall

The Rajnandgaon district has received a cumulative rainfall of 638.8 mm since the beginning of the monsoon season on June 1, 2025, according to data provided by the Land Records Department. This figure includes rainfall data from all seven tehsils of the district, with an average rainfall of 91.3 mm reported district-wide.
Among the tehsils, Rajnandgaon tehsil has recorded the highest cumulative rainfall so far with 163 mm, followed by Ghumka (125.5 mm) and Dongargarh (106.1 mm). The remaining tehsils have reported as follows: Kumarda (73.5 mm), Chhuriya (72.8 mm), Dongargaon (64.9 mm), and Lal Bahadur Nagar (33 mm).

On July 3 alone, the district recorded a total of 72.1 mm rainfall, averaging 10.3 mm across the tehsils. Dongargarh tehsil received the highest rainfall for the day at 26.5 mm, followed by Rajnandgaon (11.9 mm), Ghumka (9 mm), Dongargaon (8.6 mm), Kumarda (6.7 mm), Chhuriya (4.4 mm), and Lal Bahadur Nagar (5 mm).
This rainfall data plays a critical role in agricultural planning and water resource management as the region progresses through the Kharif cropping season.
