Six More Accused Arrested; Total Number of Arrests Reaches 12, Material Worth Around ₹1.50 Lakh Seized

Rajnandgaon Police have taken major action against an alleged network involved in the illegal liquor trade and the packaging of liquor using fake labels and holograms.
During the investigation of Crime No. 537/2026, police arrested six more accused, taking the total number of arrests in the case to 12.
According to police, a total of 62 liquor bottles, amounting to 11.160 litres and bearing a marked value of ₹3,368, were recovered from the six accused arrested on September 21.
Police also seized fake labels, hologram stickers, liquor bottle caps, mobile phones, a Grand i10 car and an Activa scooter allegedly used for transporting liquor, along with other material. The total estimated value of the seized material has been put at around ₹1.50 lakh.
The action was carried out by Dongargarh Police Station and Mohara Police Outpost under the direction of Superintendent of Police Ankita Sharma.
During the investigation, police said important evidence related to liquor packaging, fake labels and holograms had emerged.
Material Recovered From Six Accused
Kumar Verma
From Kumar Verma, a resident of Mohara, police seized a silver-coloured Grand i10 car, registration number CG-04-HX-1421, along with 21 bottles of Royal Goa Whisky, totalling 3.780 litres, kept inside the vehicle.
Dineshwari Verma
Dineshwari Verma, a resident of Mohara, was arrested on the basis of evidence obtained during the investigation. No separate seizure of liquor has been recorded from her possession.
Puran Verma
From Puran Verma, a resident of Mohara, police recovered one partially burnt hologram sticker, a partially burnt label of Jammu liquor, ash residue and a Redmi-12 mobile phone.
Rajeshwar Verma
Police seized 15 hologram stickers, one label of Jammu Special Whisky and five red-coloured bottle caps from Rajeshwar Verma, a resident of Mohara.
Omprakash Sahu
From Omprakash Sahu, a resident of Budhwari Para, Dongargarh, police seized five bottles of Royal Goa Whisky and 16 bottles of Super Chhattisgarh liquor, totalling 3.780 litres.
An Oppo mobile phone and a black Activa scooter without a number plate were also seized from his possession.
Gautam Bai
Police recovered 20 bottles of Royal Goa Street Whisky, totalling 3.600 litres, from Gautam Bai, a resident of Mudhiya.
According to police, the bottles carried Uttarakhand labels. One mobile phone was also seized from her possession.

Six Accused Were Arrested Earlier
According to police, six accused had already been arrested and sent to jail in connection with the case.
They have been identified as Dauaa Verma, Nand Kishore Verma, Tejeshwar Sahu, Devvrat Verma, Anand Agrawal and Jaykaran Sinha.
Investigation Underway to Trace the Network
Police said that during the investigation, illegal liquor, liquor labels, hologram stickers, empty bottles, bottle caps, printing material and other packaging material had also been seized earlier.
The investigation is focused on identifying the source of the liquor, the availability of fake labels and holograms, and the role of other persons allegedly connected with the packaging, transportation and distribution of the liquor.
Digital evidence obtained from the seized mobile phones and other electronic devices is being examined. Police are also examining UPI transactions and call-detail records.
Liquor, labels, holograms and packaging material are being tested and verified through the Excise Department, as well as the FSL and concerned manufacturing units wherever required.
According to police, aspects related to destruction or concealment of evidence, criminal conspiracy and collective involvement are also being investigated.
Further legal action will be taken on the basis of evidence after examining facts related to absconding accused and their links with those already arrested.
Rajnandgaon Police said that action against the illegal liquor trade and criminal networks associated with it remains ongoing.
