NSS to organise district-level Youth Day programme; Mayor Madhusudan Yadav to address youths as chief speaker

Rajnandgaon: To commemorate the birth anniversary of India’s revered spiritual leader and youth icon Swami Vivekananda, a one-day personality development camp will be organised on January 12 at Urja Park, located at Rani Sagar Chowpatty in Rajnandgaon. The programme, being held for the first time at the district level, will be organised by the District National Service Scheme (NSS), Rajnandgaon, with cooperation from the Chhatra Yuva Manch.
The camp will commence at 8 am and continue till around 4 pm. The event is being organised under the NSS 2026 theme inspired by Swami Vivekananda’s timeless call to the youth — “Arise, Awake and Stop Not Till the Goal Is Reached,” translated as “Utho, Jago aur Apni Shakti ko Pehchano.”
Rajnandgaon Mayor Madhusudan Yadav will attend the programme as the chief guest and will address the gathering from the main speaker’s podium during the intellectual session. The programme will be presided over by Ms. Monika Das, District Organiser, National Service Scheme, Rajnandgaon. Bhagwat Verma, State Treasurer of Chhatra Yuva Manch, will be present as programme in-charge and coordinating partner.
The event will witness participation from NSS officers and volunteers from all schools and colleges across the district. Members of Chhatra Yuva Manch, including Blood Warrior Nagesh Yadu and the entire team, will extend organisational support.

Key activities of the one-day camp will include youth registration, group formation and task-based activities, volunteer introduction sessions, and a special intellectual session on the theme “Arise, Awake and Recognise Your Inner Strength.” During this session, Mayor Madhusudan Yadav will guide and motivate the youth, encouraging them to channel their potential towards nation-building.
Current and former NSS volunteers, along with members of Chhatra Yuva Manch, are eligible to participate in the camp. Interested participants can register by contacting registration in-charges Bhagwat Verma (State Treasurer, Chhatra Yuva Manch), Balkrishna Komre (President, Digvijay College), or Murli Sahu (President, Arjuni College).
The programme will also feature felicitation of volunteers who appeared in career guidance examinations, as well as those who represented NSS units at national and state-level camps, recognising their contributions and achievements.
