Mayor Madhu Sudan Yadav Inaugurates Health Awareness Programme; 1,800 Students and 50 Teachers Participate

A large-scale health awareness and training camp for adolescent girls was successfully organised under Project: Niramaya Navya 2025 at the Medical College Auditorium. The programme was inaugurated by Mayor Madhu Sudan Yadav, under the aegis of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Medical College, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Yadav said the initiative would play a crucial role in promoting health awareness among young girls. He highlighted that the camp provides essential guidance on nutrition, hygiene, and preventive care, along with distribution of necessary medicines. He congratulated the medical college and the organising team for conducting this impactful event.

Organised under the guidance of Collector Jitendra Yadav and the direction of District Panchayat CEO Suruchi Singh, the programme focused on menstrual health and reproductive health awareness. A total of 1,800 schoolgirls and 50 teachers took part in the camp.
Comprehensive health check-ups, including haemoglobin testing and sickle cell screening, were conducted, followed by the distribution of iron, calcium, vitamin supplements, and deworming medicines to the participants.
The health examinations were carried out with the support of College Dean Dr. P.M. Luka, Hospital Superintendent Dr. Atul Deshkar, Deputy Superintendent Dr. Pawan Jethani, Dr. Chandrashekhar Indoriya, Dr. Pooja Meshram, and District Education Officer Pravas Singh Baghel.
The programme was graced by several dignitaries, including Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Navratan, Deputy Collector Aniket Sahu, District Education Officer Sangeeta Rao, District Mission Coordinator (Samagra Shiksha) Satish Byohare, APC Manoj Markam, PPIA Fellow Telmi Jolly, former councillor Mr. Wadhwa, and Ravindra.

Senior residents, DNB doctors, junior residents, interns, and students of batches 2021 and 2024 from the obstetrics and gynaecology department provided significant support. Staff members such as Sandeep, Sarva, and Metaj also contributed to the success of the event.
Notably, teachers and students from selected institutions of Rajnandgaon Block played a major role in ensuring the programme’s success. Several private schools—especially Neeraj Bajpai International School Bori, Neeraj Public School Pendri, Yugantar Public School, Sanskar City, Royal Kids, and Gayatri School—also extended valuable cooperation.
