During the inspection at Mohara, the Mayor reviewed the current water level in the river and directed officials to maintain cleanliness around the anicut and ensure all necessary technical arrangements at the filtration plant before the onset of peak summer. Technical staff informed that the water level at the Mohara anicut has currently dropped by about four feet. As per annual planning, adequate water has already been reserved for Rajnandgaon city in Matiyamoti Reservoir, Mogra Barrage, and Mokhli Anicut, and water will be drawn from these sources if the raw water level declines further.

The Mayor also inspected the Matiyamoti Reservoir and held discussions with Water Resources Department officials regarding water storage and allocation for the city. Officials informed that approximately 300 MCFT of water has been reserved in the reservoir specifically to supply raw water to the Shivnath River anicut serving Rajnandgaon, and water can be released as per demand.

Mayor Yadav stated that if temperatures rise and water demand increases, about 50 MCFT of water would be drawn in the first phase, followed by additional releases in a phased manner if required. He instructed officials to remain fully prepared for water release operations and ensure that canals and distribution channels are cleaned in advance.

Emphasizing proactive planning, the Mayor directed departments to complete all necessary preparations immediately so that drinking water supply to residents remains unaffected during the summer months.
