High-level interaction in Chhattisgarh focuses on governance, NITI Aayog’s role, and effective implementation of development schemes

In a significant inter-state engagement, Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla held a key meeting with Ganesh Shankar Mishra, Vice Chairman of the Chhattisgarh State NITI Commission and a senior former bureaucrat, during his visit to Chhattisgarh.
The meeting, described as both insightful and productive, centered on policy formulation, rural development strategies, and the exchange of administrative experiences. The discussion is being viewed as an important step toward strengthening governance practices and enhancing collaboration between states.

During the interaction, both leaders deliberated extensively on improving the implementation of development schemes at the grassroots level. They also examined the evolving role of NITI Aayog in shaping state policies and ensuring better coordination across departments for efficient governance delivery.
Special emphasis was laid on rural development, administrative reforms, and the need for convergence among various government departments to maximize the impact of welfare initiatives. The leaders acknowledged that effective policy execution remains key to achieving inclusive and sustainable growth.
Ganesh Shankar Mishra, known for his extensive administrative experience—from serving as a district collector to holding key positions in the state secretariat—shared valuable insights and practical perspectives. His inputs, widely respected in policy and governance circles, have previously guided decision-making at both state and higher levels.

Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla termed the meeting “enriching and beneficial,” stating that Mishra’s experience and vision provided him with crucial insights. He added that these learnings would be instrumental in enhancing the execution of development projects in Madhya Pradesh, particularly in rural areas.
During his Chhattisgarh visit, Shukla also met former Chief Minister Raman Singh to inquire about his health following a recent surgery. Singh is currently recovering and is said to be in stable condition.
Highlighting the importance of such interactions, Shukla noted that dialogue and knowledge-sharing between states can play a pivotal role in accelerating development and improving governance outcomes.
