Farmers Benefit from Advanced Breeds Exhibition, Animal Health Services, and Expert Guidance

In celebration of Chhattisgarh’s Silver Jubilee, the Animal Husbandry Development Department organized a block-level Livestock Fair and Veterinary Camp at the Rajnandgaon Veterinary Hospital. The event saw enthusiastic participation from local farmers and livestock owners. The chief guest was District Panchayat Chairperson, Smt. Kiran Vaishnav.

The fair featured stalls demonstrating fodder processing, urea treatment, silage preparation, and Azolla production, which were inspected by the guests and attended farmers. Vaccination of animals and treatment for sick livestock were conducted on-site, and owners of animals showing serious illness were advised to bring them to the veterinary hospital for further care.

Exhibitions included high-yield dairy cows, calves, bulls, buffaloes, and improved breed goats, along with competitions in multiple categories. Farmers actively participated, and winners were awarded based on breed quality and animal health. Notable awardees included Girdhar Yadav and Sandeep Yadav (dairy cows), Jaswant Sahu, Jiten Sahu, and Jhansi Sahu (calves), and Tikesh Kumar Yadav, Mujib Bilal, and Ashish Deshlahre (goats and sheep), among others. Certificates and prizes were presented to six other farmers in various livestock categories.

Veterinary experts Dr. Tarun Ramteke and Dr. Ashok Jain guided progressive farmers on modern techniques, beneficiary-oriented schemes, maximizing profits from animal husbandry, and establishing goat or poultry farms under the National Livestock Mission for self-employment. The event was also attended by Deputy Director of Veterinary Services, Dr. Pratibha Bhosale, along with Dr. Archana Mishra, Dr. Anupriya Chandrakar, Dr. Priyanka Saw, Dr. Gajendra Yadav, and other staff, interns, and numerous livestock owners.

The fair not only highlighted advancements in livestock breeding and management but also served as a platform for farmers to gain knowledge, receive support, and strengthen the animal husbandry sector in the region.
