The Chhattisgarh government has made it mandatory for all farmers to register on the Agristack Portal under the Agristack Project for the Kharif 2025-26 paddy procurement. Farmers who wish to sell their paddy at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) must complete their registration by August 30, 2025 to obtain a Digital Farmer ID, failing which they may lose access to key government benefits including crop insurance and the PM-Kisan scheme.

As per official data, out of the total 145,870 farmers in Rajnandgaon district, 112,033 farmers — approximately 77% — have already registered on the portal. The district administration has appealed to the remaining farmers to complete their registration on time either through their local cooperative societies or nearest public service centers (Lok Seva Kendras).

To generate the Farmer ID, farmers are required to provide their B-1 land documents, Aadhaar card, and the mobile number linked with Aadhaar for OTP verification. Upon registration, each farmer will receive an 11-digit unique Farmer ID, which will digitally authenticate their identity across government services.

The Agristack platform, developed by the Government of India, aims to empower Indian agriculture through digitization by building a comprehensive database of farmers. This includes their identification, land records, financial information, crop patterns, and insurance history — all integrated into a single digital ecosystem. The platform also supports e-KYC to eliminate duplicate registrations and enhance transparency.

The Chhattisgarh government has created a Unified Farmer Portal and instructed all Primary Agricultural Credit Societies to prioritize new registrations and update landholding data through this portal during the official registration window, which runs from July 1 to October 31 every year.

This year, inter-departmental coordination has been strengthened between the agriculture, food, and revenue departments. The Food Department will directly source data from the Agristack registry via API integration, while the Revenue Department will align land records and crop survey data through Aadhaar seeding with the Bhuinya Portal.

District officials have been directed to give top priority to completing all Aadhaar seeding and farmer registrations within the stipulated time frame to ensure all eligible farmers can sell their paddy at support prices.

Objectives of the Agristack Platform:

  • Develop a centralized farmer database.
  • Digitally verify farmer identity and landholding records.
  • Enable access to financial services and affordable credit.
  • Offer localized disaster early warning systems.
  • Encourage private sector participation to expand farmer service options.

The administration urges all unregistered farmers to complete their digital registration on the Agristack Portal and obtain their Digital Farmer ID (Farmer Card) by August 30, 2025, to avoid exclusion from critical agricultural benefits.
