Eid-ul-Fitr, the festival symbolizing unity, peace, and brotherhood, will be celebrated with great enthusiasm today. Haji Rais Ahmed Shakeel, President of the Jama Masjid and the Muslim community, extended heartfelt Eid greetings to all residents of Rajnandgaon through a press release.

He emphasized the spiritual and social significance of Ramadan, describing it as a month of blessings and self-discipline. According to him, fasting is not only an act of devotion but also a means to cleanse the body and soul, fostering compassion and generosity towards the less fortunate.

The Essence of Eid-ul-Fitr

Haji Rais Ahmed stated that Eid-ul-Fitr is a festival that promotes love, harmony, and social unity. He highlighted the importance of spreading happiness beyond religious boundaries, ensuring goodwill among people of all faiths. He also encouraged individuals to support the underprivileged, reinforcing the festival’s true essence.

“Eid is not just a festival for Muslims; it is a celebration of humanity, love, and brotherhood. It teaches us to respect and embrace all communities with kindness and generosity,” said Haji Rais Ahmed Shakeel.

Traditional Eid Prayers and Celebrations

The Eidgah in Mathpara is all set for the grand Eid prayer, which will be conducted at 8:30 AM today. Preparations have been completed with the help of Shahar-e-Mutawallian members, ensuring a smooth and peaceful congregation.

  • The Jama Masjid and all local mosques were adorned with lights throughout Ramadan.
  • Special prayers were held across different mosques for national peace and prosperity.

Reflecting on evolving traditions, Haji Rais Ahmed Shakeel noted that in earlier times, Eid celebrations would last for an entire week, but modern lifestyles have brought significant changes in the way festivals are observed. Despite this, the spirit of Eid remains intact, promoting harmony and togetherness.
