Power Distribution Officials Pledge Environmental Protection through Fruit-Bearing and Shady Trees

Under the environmental protection campaign initiated by Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited, a significant plantation drive was held at the Kailash Nagar electricity office campus. The initiative was led by Executive Director of Rajnandgaon Zone, Mr. Shirish Selat, who along with company officials and employees planted various species of fruit-bearing and shady trees, including gooseberry (amla), jamun, karanj, guava, and neem.
During the event, Mr. Selat emphasized the importance of plantation and environmental stewardship. “Trees play a critical role in maintaining climate balance and combating global warming. Planting is not enough; their protection and nurturing is our moral responsibility,” he stated.

He further urged everyone to engage honestly and consistently in afforestation efforts to maintain ecological balance. “Each sapling planted today is a responsibility we all share. Let us ensure they grow into healthy trees for a better tomorrow,” he added.
The event saw the participation of several senior officials including Superintending Engineer Mr. Shankeshwar Kanwar, Executive Engineer Mr. Ravindra Kumar Goswami, Assistant Engineer Mr. Rohit Mandavi, along with Mr. Himanshu Bhuarya, Mr. Prem Narayan Verma, and other staff members. Together, they pledged to ensure the safety and growth of the newly planted saplings as part of their shared duty toward the environment.
