In a significant boost to rural infrastructure, Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker and Rajnandgaon MLA Raman Singh has secured approval for development works worth ₹10.38 crore for the Rajnandgaon विधानसभा क्षेत्र. The funds have been sanctioned for the financial year 2025–26 under the Infrastructure Development and Environment Cess Fund.

The approval was granted following proposals submitted by Dr Singh, with the consent of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Minister Tankaram Verma, who oversees the Infrastructure and Environment Cess portfolio. The sanctioned projects aim to address local needs and accelerate grassroots development across multiple gram panchayats.

Focus on Roads and Civic Infrastructure

A substantial portion of the allocation has been earmarked for the construction of cement concrete (CC) roads in villages including Bankal, Barga, Rewagahan, Raveli, Torankatta, Manki, Gathula, Dilapahari, Bargahi, Dhamansara, Singhola, Kopedih, Thekwa, Mauhabhatha, Sankara, Magarlota, Kotra, Malpuri, Mudpar, Surgi, Kotrabhantha, Beltikari, Kumhalori and several others. Individual allocations range from ₹5 lakh to over ₹10 lakh per project.

These road projects are expected to significantly improve connectivity, especially during monsoon months, ensuring smoother transportation for agricultural produce and daily commuting.

Community Halls and Public Facilities

The plan also includes construction of community buildings, mangal bhavans, commercial complexes and sanitation units in villages such as Bhothipar Khurd, Janglesar, Bhanpuri, Khaira, Achanakpur Bhanthapara, Parrikala, Alikhunta, Dilapahari, Bagatarai, Gatapar, Dharampur, Litiya, Bhanwarmara, Khuteri, Somni, Anjora, Kakrel, Thakurtola, Ira, Birejhar, Nawagaon, Phuljhar, Buchibharada, Bharregaon, Kusmi and Dhirri.

Special provisions have also been made for anganwadi buildings, high-mast lights, lightning arresters, drainage systems, waiting halls, entrance gates, boundary walls for schools and cremation grounds, dome sheds, cultural stages and mini stadium-related infrastructure.

In addition, public toilets, sanitation structures, and ahata (compound wall) constructions for schools, CSC centres and panchayat buildings have been approved, reflecting a focus on both civic amenities and community welfare.

Political Reactions

Local BJP leaders and public representatives expressed gratitude to Dr Singh for pursuing the proposals. They stated that the sanctioned projects would substantially improve living standards in rural areas and strengthen basic infrastructure across the constituency.

With dozens of villages set to benefit from the comprehensive package, the ₹10.38 crore approval is being seen as a major developmental intervention for Rajnandgaon constituency. The implementation of these works in the coming months is expected to bring visible transformation to rural landscapes and enhance public amenities at the grassroots level.
