Action carried out in Amleedeh village under directions of SP Ankita Sharma as part of special drive against illegal liquor sale

Acting on strict instructions to curb illegal liquor trade on a notified dry day, Dongargaon police conducted a major raid at Bharat Dhaba in Amleedeh and seized seven cases of illicit liquor. The dhaba operator was arrested and later sent to judicial custody after being produced before a court.
The operation was carried out under the directions of Superintendent of Police Ankita Sharma, who has ordered intensified monitoring across the district during dry days to prevent illegal sale and transportation of alcohol.
According to police officials, the action was taken under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Kirtan Rathore, City Superintendent of Police Manjulata Baj, and trainee Deputy Superintendent of Police Suman Jaiswal.
A team led by Station House Officer Inspector Ashirvad Rahatgaonkar conducted the raid after receiving a tip-off from an informant. Police surrounded the premises of Bharat Dhaba in Amleedeh and carried out a search operation.
During the search, the police recovered 320 bottles of country liquor (Shole brand) worth ₹25,600 and 16 quarter bottles of Indian-made foreign liquor (Green Label brand) worth ₹3,200 from the possession of the accused Nizamuddin Ansari, also known as Raja (34), a resident of Ward No. 15, Matiya Road, Dongargaon.

In total, 336 quarter bottles—equivalent to 60.480 bulk litres, or seven cases—of illegal liquor were seized. The total estimated value of the seized liquor is ₹28,800.
Police completed the seizure proceedings on the spot following due legal formalities and registered a case against the accused under relevant provisions of the Chhattisgarh Excise Act. He was subsequently produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
Officials stated that the district police will continue their crackdown on illegal liquor sales and transportation, especially during dry days and festive occasions.
Police personnel who played a key role in the operation included Head Constable Brijmohan Yadav, Constable Bisram Verma, Deepak Jatwar, and Woman Constable Rajkumari Ratnakar.
