The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the District Panchayat, Ms. Suruchi Singh, held a comprehensive review of the ongoing Su-ashasan Tihar and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) – Rural initiatives through a video conferencing session with key officials from the Panchayat and Rural Development Department. During the meeting, Ms. Singh directed all the concerned officers of the District and Janpad Panchayats to expedite the survey work under PMAY and complete it within two days.
She also instructed that the finalized list of beneficiaries be displayed on the notice board of each Gram Panchayat and read out during Gram Sabha meetings. The CEO emphasized that Su-ashasan Tihar is a high-priority task and outlined that camps will be organized at the Janpad level from May 5 to 15, where ministers would visit villages to review the progress of the initiative.
Ms. Singh also reviewed water conservation and recharge projects, expressing dissatisfaction with the current progress of recharge shafts and directing urgent action to improve the situation. She instructed that each Gram Panchayat prepare proposals for establishing at least one recharge shaft. Additionally, she reviewed ongoing works under the Swachh Bharat Mission, directing timely completion of all pending toilet constructions and Self-Help Group (SHG) centers.
Under the Sangam Abhiyan, which aims to empower women through collaboration with the National Rural Livelihood Mission, Ms. Singh also reviewed the plans to include women entrepreneurs (Lakpati Didis) to display the initiative’s benefits and contribute to their economic empowerment.
The meeting concluded with detailed instructions for the completion of various welfare projects within the set timelines.
