District Panchayat CEO Inspects Pending and Under-Construction PMAY-G Houses in Rajnandgaon Villages

CEO Suruchi Singh reviews housing progress in Teresara, Surgi, Kubhatgaon and Sambalpur; directs officials to accelerate completion

Chief Executive Officer of District Panchayat, Ms. Suruchi Singh, on Saturday inspected pending and under-construction houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Gramin (PMAY-G) in villages Teresara and Surgi of Rajnandgaon Janpad Panchayat, and Kubhatgaon and Sambalpur of Dongargaon Janpad Panchayat.

During the visit, CEO Singh interacted directly with beneficiaries whose houses remain incomplete and encouraged them to expedite construction. She instructed officials to extend all necessary technical and administrative support to ensure timely completion of pending houses.

She also directed Gram Rozgar Sahayaks to continuously generate person-days under employment schemes so that beneficiaries receive adequate labour support during construction. Emphasising motivation and accountability, she instructed that beneficiaries who complete their houses within the stipulated timeframe should be felicitated at Gram Panchayat-level programmes.

The CEO clarified that instalment payments under PMAY-G would be released strictly in accordance with construction progress. Beneficiaries informed her that they had already received instalment amounts under the scheme.

Ms. Singh highlighted that timely completion of rural housing projects is a key priority of the administration, as the scheme directly impacts the living standards and dignity of rural families.

Officials from the PMAY-G technical team, housing nodal officers, scheme staff, along with village sarpanches, secretaries, Gram Rozgar Sahayaks, Awas Mitras, and local residents were present during the inspection.
