Around 1,500 registrations recorded as traders discuss GST issues, online shopping impact, and business development with senior state leaders

The Rajnandgaon unit of the Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce and Industries organized a district-level traders’ convention today at Raj Imperial Hotel in Pendri. A large number of traders from across the district participated in the event.
Presence of Chief Guests and Dignitaries
The programme was attended by several prominent leaders and public representatives.
The chief guest of the event was Raman Singh, Speaker of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly and former Chief Minister. The convention was chaired by O. P. Choudhary.

Member of Parliament Santosh Pandey, the Mayor, district representatives, and several Chamber officials were also present during the programme.
Under the leadership of district Chamber president Kamlesh Baid, a special delegation had visited both O.P. Choudhary and Dr. Raman Singh nearly ten days ago to formally invite them to the convention.
Key Discussions During the Convention
Members of the Chamber discussed several important issues concerning the trading community, including GST-related matters, the growing impact of online shopping on local businesses, and the promotion of the “Local for Vocal” initiative.
The Chamber also extended open support to the ongoing strike by medicine shop owners. Discussions during the convention focused on business development, existing challenges faced by traders, and improving coordination between the business community and the government.
Leaders Congratulate Traders
Dr. Raman Singh and O.P. Choudhary congratulated the trading community on the success of the programme through social media posts.

O.P. Choudhary stated that such conventions are important for creating awareness among traders and strengthening the state’s economy.
Membership Drive Receives Strong Response
Programme coordinator Uttam Gidiya of the Rajnandgaon unit of the Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce informed that approximately 1,500 registrations were recorded during the conference. He further stated that nearly 150 new members filled out membership forms during the event.
Chamber Officials Welcome Leaders
Chamber office-bearers accorded a warm welcome to both senior leaders during the programme.
Local president Kamlesh Baid and other members stated that the convention aimed to provide a common platform for traders and work towards resolving their issues effectively.
The event is being viewed as a meaningful step towards strengthening dialogue between the business community and the government.
