Postgraduate Hindi students of Government Digvijay College, Rajnandgaon, visited Kabir Math Nadia as part of an extension activity programme. During the visit, they gained valuable insights into the life philosophy of Sant Kabir Sahib and the history and traditions of Kabir Panth.
The visit was organised under the guidance of college Principal Dr. Suchitra Gupta and coordinated by Hindi Department Head Dr. Shankarmuni Rai. A team comprising faculty members Dr. Praveen Kumar Sahu, Dr. Neelam Tiwari and Dr. Gayatri Sahu, along with 15 students, visited the monastery and interacted with its head, Sant Mangal Sahib.

Sant Mangal Sahib Explains the History of the Monastery
During the interaction, Sant Mangal Sahib informed the students that Kabir Math Nadia was established 202 years ago. Mangtu Thakur, a Kabir devotee and the revenue estate holder of Nadia village, donated more than 300 acres of land for the establishment of the monastery.
He explained that the first head of the monastery and Nadvanshacharya was Vairagya Sant Seva Sahib, who took Jeevant Samadhi. The monastery has memorials of 12 successive heads who played an important role in taking the teachings and philosophy of Sant Kabir to the people.
Students Learn Through Kabir’s Teachings
Sant Mangal Sahib shared practical insights into Kabir’s philosophy through the saint’s sakhis (couplets), helping students understand the relevance of his teachings and ideas.
The monastery’s manager, Ram Prakash Sahu, and Khelan Sarva were also present during the interaction.
Students who participated in the programme included Chetna, Gajendra, Vaishnavi, Vandana, Kareena, Janvi, Vikas, Arvind, Yamini, Tameshwari, Chaman and Bhojram, among others.
