Among its hidden gems, Dharparoom has recently emerged as a promising tourist hotspot, attracting visitors with its breathtaking valleys, viewpoints, natural waterfalls, caves, and ancient rock paintings of archaeological significance.

Located about 25 kilometers from the district headquarters, near Gram Panchayat Pidhapal in Kanker block, Dharparoom is nestled amidst lush green hills. The site offers a unique blend of natural charm and cultural heritage, making it a favorite among nature lovers and history enthusiasts alike.
Currently, the management and operation of Dharparoom are being carried out by local villagers through community participation. District Collector Nilesh Kumar Mahadev Kshirsagar and Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat, Haresh Mandavi, recently visited Dharparoom to review its potential. They held discussions with villagers, gathering insights about the area’s historical and cultural background, and expressed intent to develop it into a full-fledged tourist destination.

The growing popularity of Dharparoom has also been fueled by media reports and social media exposure. Recently, visuals shared by journalists and visitors showcased its natural grandeur, sparking widespread curiosity. Many tourists have already begun to compare it with Tatamari Hill in Keshkal, with some suggesting Dharparoom could surpass it as a major hill station in the region.
With administrative support and continued community involvement, Dharparoom is poised to establish itself as one of the leading tourist attractions in Kanker. Its pristine landscapes, archaeological value, and unique geographic features promise to place it firmly on Chhattisgarh’s tourism map.
