Marking the 25th anniversary of Chhattisgarh’s statehood and under the “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” campaign, the Women and Child Development Department organized cyber safety awareness programs in government higher secondary schools of Kallubanjari and Joshilamati villages under Chhuriya projects 01 and 02. The sessions aimed to educate adolescent girls about the growing threats of cyber fraud and the importance of safe digital behavior.

In Kallubanjari, the awareness session was conducted by Sub-Inspector Om Sahu, while in Joshilamati, it was led by Mr. Praveen Meshram. Both officers sensitized schoolgirls about various online threats including cyberbullying, phishing, cyber grooming, online gaming traps, fake calls, cloned SIM cards, identity theft, cyberstalking, fraudulent trading and share market schemes, “digital arrest” scams, bogus bank loans, “work-from-home” frauds, cryptocurrency and Bitcoin-based doubling schemes, fake lottery offers, and deceptive messages about payments and insurance.
Students were cautioned against answering unknown calls without verification through Truecaller, and advised not to share private or sensitive photographs, objectionable content, or child pornography on social media. They were also instructed to use strong passwords, enable two-step verification, and keep privacy locks active. Awareness was raised about fraudulent matrimonial sites, unsafe shopping portals, and fake QR codes, with an appeal to immediately report cyber frauds by dialing the national helpline 1930.
The program also included a quiz competition, with winners being rewarded for their participation. Additionally, students Khushboo and Dimple were honored for securing first positions in their school.

The event was attended by Chhuriya Janpad President Sanjay Sinha, Janpad Member Balamukund Kunjam, village Sarpanch Gomti Sahu, Nain Singh Patel, and Bhanulal Dhankar as special guests. Key participation came from school principals, district mission coordinators, gender experts, Anganwadi workers, and a large number of community members. Special coordination was provided by Cyber Cell Station In-Charge Vinay Kumar Pammar.
The initiative reflected a collaborative effort by the Women and Child Development Department, Police Department, and local governance bodies to equip young girls with knowledge and tools to combat cyber threats in an increasingly digital age.
