Rajnandgaon Collector Jitendra Yadav on Friday conducted a comprehensive review meeting with construction agencies at the Collectorate conference hall, assessing the progress of ongoing development projects across the district.
During the meeting, the Collector expressed displeasure over delays in completing works approved in previous years and stressed that rural-level projects are sanctioned based on essential public needs and therefore must not face unnecessary postponement. He directed departments to begin construction immediately after project approval and ensure completion within prescribed timelines with uncompromised quality standards.
Highlighting slow progress in certain projects, Yadav voiced concern over delays attributed to contractor Sanjay Singhi and instructed officials to issue notices to contractors who fail to initiate work even after tenders are awarded. He further directed engineering departments to conduct regular reviews of development works to accelerate progress and maintain quality.

The Collector also instructed officials to prioritise completion of smaller and older pending projects to ensure early public benefit.
Special emphasis was laid on works sanctioned under Members of Parliament (MP) and Members of Legislative Assembly (MLA) development funds. Yadav directed officials to complete these projects on priority within the stipulated timeframe, maintaining strict quality standards.
He reiterated that negligence at any level would not be tolerated and ordered continuous monitoring of construction activities to ensure timely execution.
Municipal Corporation Commissioner Atul Vishwakarma, Joint Collector Sheetal Bansal, Executive Engineer (PWD) S.K. Chourasia and senior officials from various departments were present during the meeting.
