Rajnandgaon Collector Jitendra Yadav conducted a field inspection of the Tribal Weavers’ Cooperative Society and Primary Health Centre at Buchatola in Chhuriya development block on Thursday. During the visit, he reviewed employment and livelihood opportunities for local weavers as well as the availability of healthcare services for residents of the area.
The Collector interacted directly with weavers and healthcare staff and issued instructions to address infrastructure gaps and strengthen essential services.
Collector Reviews Weavers’ Work, Income and Problems
During his inspection of the Tribal Weavers’ Cooperative Society, Collector Jitendra Yadav interacted with the weavers and sought detailed information about their work, working hours, income and the problems they face while working at the centre.
During the interaction, Anita, a member of the cooperative, informed the Collector that fans were required at the workplace and that fencing was needed around the premises.
Taking note of the requirements, Yadav directed the concerned officials to ensure immediate cleaning of the cooperative building, installation of fans as required and fencing of the premises.

The Collector also observed the craftsmanship of the weavers who were preparing cloth used for making blankets and coats. He appreciated their skills and the quality of their work.
Approximately 40 people were working at the cooperative at the time of the inspection.
Yadav said that the cooperative is providing villagers with employment opportunities within their own village, which is an important step towards strengthening local livelihoods and creating sustainable income opportunities.
He assured the weavers that all possible assistance would be extended to help them expand their work and strengthen their livelihoods.
He also directed the concerned officials to coordinate with each other and take necessary action to address the needs and problems of the weavers.
Directions for Anti-Addiction Awareness Camp
The Collector also directed officials to organise a de-addiction and awareness camp in the village to increase social awareness among residents.
He emphasised the need to educate villagers about the harmful effects of addiction and encourage them to adopt a healthy and positive lifestyle.
Health Centre Inspected, MBBS Doctor Posting Ordered
Collector Jitendra Yadav also inspected the Primary Health Centre at Buchatola and reviewed the healthcare facilities available to residents.
He assessed the functioning of the OPD, vaccination services and other healthcare facilities and directed officials to improve arrangements wherever necessary.
The Collector ordered the posting of an MBBS doctor at the Primary Health Centre to strengthen medical services and ensure better access to qualified medical care for residents of the surrounding rural areas.
Yadav also inspected an unused Covid building located within the health centre premises, which had remained closed for several years.
He directed officials to make the building functional by converting it into a waiting area for the relatives of patients. The facility will provide family members accompanying patients with a proper place to sit and wait during treatment.
During the inspection, seepage was found in the roof of the health centre building. The Collector directed the concerned officials to ensure that the problem is repaired at the earliest.
Focus on Vaccination and Health Camps
The Collector instructed the health department to ensure regular vaccination in the area and organise health camps from time to time.
He said that residents in rural areas should have access to essential health check-ups and treatment at the primary level itself, without facing unnecessary difficulties.

Yadav also interacted with patients who had come to the OPD for treatment. He enquired about their health condition, the medical facilities they were receiving and their treatment experience.
He directed the health staff to ensure that patients receive timely and appropriate treatment along with necessary medicines.
Focus on Livelihoods and Essential Services
The Collector’s visit to Buchatola focused on two critical areas of rural development—local livelihood generation and accessible healthcare.
While the Tribal Weavers’ Cooperative Society is providing employment to around 40 local workers through traditional weaving activities, the Primary Health Centre serves as an important healthcare facility for residents of the surrounding rural area.
By directing immediate action on workplace infrastructure, strengthening medical staffing, utilising the unused Covid building and improving vaccination and health camp services, Collector Jitendra Yadav emphasised the need to make government facilities more useful and accessible to local communities.
