Orders Suspension of Driving Licences for Dangerous Driving and Repeated Traffic Violations

Inspector General of Police, Rajnandgaon Range, Ajay Kumar Yadav, chaired a review meeting with traffic nodal officers and in-charges from districts under the Rajnandgaon Range through video conferencing. The meeting focused on strengthening road safety, improving traffic management and ensuring strict compliance with traffic regulations.
Strict Action Against Motor Vehicle Act Violations
During the meeting, IG Yadav directed officers to take firm and effective action against violations of the Motor Vehicles Act.
He specifically instructed officials to identify vehicles and persons involved in hit-and-run cases and initiate prompt action. He also directed authorities to ensure suspension of driving licences of motorists who repeatedly violate traffic rules or drive in a dangerous and reckless manner.
Special Focus on School Bus and Van Safety
The IG emphasised the need for comprehensive safety checks of school buses and vans. Officials were directed to inspect vehicle fitness, CCTV cameras, speed governors and medical kits.
He also called for special attention to the health examination of drivers and conductors to ensure the safety of schoolchildren.

Officials were further instructed to ensure that information related to road accidents is entered promptly into the iRAD app.
Identify Accident-Prone Locations
IG Yadav directed officers to identify accident-prone areas and locations where road crashes occur repeatedly.
He stressed the need for coordination with the Public Works Department (PWD) and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to identify deficiencies at such locations and undertake necessary corrective measures.
Action Against Overspeeding and Drunk Driving
The IG also directed officers to make greater use of interceptor vehicles for effective enforcement against overspeeding and drunk driving.
He called for increased challan action against motorists who endanger their own lives and the safety of other road users through reckless driving.
Public Urged to Follow Traffic Rules
Appealing to citizens, IG Ajay Kumar Yadav urged motorists to act responsibly and strictly follow traffic regulations.
He particularly stressed the mandatory use of helmets while riding two-wheelers and seat belts while travelling in cars, stating that compliance with traffic rules is essential not only for individual safety but also for protecting other road users.
Senior Police Officers Attend Review Meeting
The meeting was attended by Additional Superintendent of Police Geeta Wadhwani from the IG’s office, Additional Superintendent of Police Keertan Rathore from Rajnandgaon, Additional Superintendent of Police Hemchand Sिदार from Kabirdham, Deputy Superintendent of Police Neha Pawar from Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki and Deputy Superintendent of Police Ramesh Chandra from Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai.
Traffic in-charges from various districts of the Rajnandgaon Range, including Inspector Navratan Kashyap, Inspector Mahesh Dhruv and Assistant Sub-Inspector Sheshnarayan Dewangan, were also present.
