Collector encourages freshers to embrace discipline, hard work and clear goals

Collector Jitendra Yadav attended the Deeksharambh ceremony for newly admitted students at Government Kamaladevi Rathi Women’s Postgraduate College in Rajnandgaon and encouraged them to pursue their academic and personal goals with discipline, determination and consistent effort.
Addressing the newly admitted students, Collector Yadav said there is no shortcut to success and that significant achievements cannot be attained without hard work. He urged the students to set clear goals and make measurable progress towards them every day.
Emphasising the importance of discipline, the Collector said, “Discipline is freedom, and freedom is also a form of discipline.” He encouraged the students to incorporate discipline into their daily lives to experience greater freedom and achieve their aspirations.
During the programme, Collector Yadav welcomed the newly admitted students by applying tilak to them. He also unveiled a poster highlighting the role of women in the campaign to make the country free from substance abuse.
Principal highlights importance of college life
College Principal Dr Anjali Avadhiya said entering college marks an important phase in the lives of students, when they begin taking several important decisions independently.
She noted that women are making their mark across every field and expressed confidence that the students of the college would bring pride to their parents as well as the institution through their achievements.
Manibhaskar Gupta, Chairperson of the College Janbhagidari Committee, extended her best wishes to the students and encouraged them to move forward with dignity and determination while working towards success.
Freshers introduced to academic facilities
As part of the Deeksharambh ceremony, newly admitted students were introduced to various departments of the college. Faculty members briefed them about their respective departments as well as the academic and other facilities available on the campus.
Cultural programmes and sports competitions were also organised during the event, adding an interactive and engaging dimension to the induction programme.
Cultural Programme In-charge Ramkumari Dhurva and Sports Officer Dr Neeta S. Nair provided special support for the successful organisation of the event.
The programme was conducted by Dr Basant Kumar Sonber, IQAC Coordinator and Head of the Department of Psychology.
Public representatives, dignitaries, faculty members, officers, employees and students of the college were present at the ceremony.
