In a proactive effort to assess grassroots employment and skill development, District Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure paid a surprise visit to Shri Sai Weaver Cooperative Society Ltd., located in Rewadih village under the Rajnandgaon development block. The visit focused on the inspection of weaving activities, particularly related to the production of school uniforms and other fabric goods.
During the visit, the Collector observed the operations inside the weaver workshop, where more than 250 weavers, including around 50 women, are actively engaged in fabric production. The society is working under the Chhattisgarh State Handloom Development and Marketing Cooperative Federation Ltd., Raipur, which supplies yarn and procures the final products under its government clothing supply scheme.

The Collector interacted directly with the weavers to understand their daily production capacity, monthly income, and working conditions. Many of the weavers expressed their satisfaction with the availability of employment opportunities within their village, enabling them to earn a decent livelihood through skilled work. They also highlighted the regular wage payments and the service charges paid to the society as motivating factors.
The Federation provides the raw yarn and compensates the weavers with weaving wages based on the finished goods. The cooperative society also receives a service commission, which supports its continued operation.

Present during the inspection were Raju Kolhe, Deputy Director of Handloom; Chudamani Devangan, President of the Shri Sai Weaver Cooperative Society; and other officials, employees, and weavers.
