Collector Conducts Surprise Inspection at Government College Chhuria

Students encouraged to apply for Azim Premji Scholarship Scheme online

During his visit to Chhuria, District Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure conducted a surprise inspection of the Government College, Chhuria. The Collector reviewed the number of applications received so far under the Azim Premji Scholarship Scheme and instructed staff to ensure that eligible students are guided to apply online for free.

During the inspection, Dr. Bhure interacted with B.Com first-year students Sumitra and Santoshie, providing them detailed information about the scholarship and urging them to submit applications as soon as possible. The online application process is open until September 30, 2025.

Under the scheme, eligible students will receive an annual scholarship of ₹30,000, which will be provided throughout the duration of their course (2–5 years), helping them pursue higher education without financial constraints. The scholarship is open to girls who have passed Class 10th and 12th from government schools and enrolled in the first year of an undergraduate or diploma program at a recognized institution in the academic session 2025-26.

Applications can be submitted online at Azim Premji Foundation Scholarship Portal or via QR code scanning. There is no application fee. The scholarship will continue for the full duration of the course for students who meet the eligibility criteria.

The Collector also instructed the college’s nodal officer to assist all eligible students in completing their online applications. The inspection was attended by SDM Dongargaon Shri Srikant Koram, Tehsildar Shri Vijay Kothari, and other officials.
