The effective implementation of the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (Chirayu) has given two children from Rajnandgaon an opportunity to overcome serious health conditions and move towards a healthier and more normal life.
Through the efforts of the Chirayu Team Rajnandgaon, successful complex spinal surgeries were performed on 15-year-old Durga Verma and 18-year-old Mithilesh Yadav at Narayana Hospital.
Both children were suffering from severe spinal deformities that had adversely affected their normal lives and daily activities. Durga Verma was diagnosed with kyphoscoliosis, while Mithilesh Yadav was suffering from lordo-kyphoscoliosis.
Because of their conditions, both children faced considerable difficulties in movement and performing routine activities. Timely identification of their conditions and guidance for appropriate treatment helped open the way for better medical care and brought a positive change in their lives.
Timely Detection Opened the Way for Treatment
During health examinations, Dr Kusum Chandra and Dr Ayush Watan Sharma identified the serious health conditions of both children.
The doctors provided immediate guidance and initiated the process of referring the children for specialised treatment. Timely detection of the conditions made it possible to facilitate appropriate treatment for both children.

Under the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (Chirayu), both children were referred to Narayana Hospital for specialised treatment.
Specialist doctors at the hospital successfully performed complex surgeries to treat their severe spinal deformities.
The Chirayu team provided continuous assistance throughout the treatment process, including the required procedures and hospital-related formalities, enabling the children to access specialised medical care.
