The Bharatiya Janata Party’s Rajnandgaon district unit will launch the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ from September 17 to October 17 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s completion of 25 years in public life.

During the month-long campaign, BJP workers will reach more than 1,500 booths across the district and connect with beneficiary families. The campaign will feature 12 programmes centred on service, cleanliness, public outreach and awareness about government schemes.

BJP state general secretary Naveen Markandey, campaign convenor Madhusudan Yadav and district BJP president Komal Singh Rajput shared details of the campaign at a press conference at the BJP district office on Saturday.

Five Lakh Diyas to Mark Campaign’s Beginning

According to Naveen Markandey, the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan in Rajnandgaon will begin with the lighting of five lakh diyas.

The ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ initiative will be launched on September 17, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. At 7 pm, an ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ will be lit at the homes of beneficiary families across more than 1,077 booths in the district.

The target includes 100 diyas at each booth, 77,000 diyas at the block level and one lakh diyas at the district headquarters, taking the overall target to approximately five lakh diyas.

The campaign will particularly focus on reaching families who have benefited from Central or state government schemes. BJP workers will interact with these families to learn about the benefits they have received and understand their concerns.

Preparations are also underway to connect eligible people who have not yet been covered by government schemes through ‘Seva Setu Shivirs’.

‘Aangan Milan’ to Focus on Nutrition, Health and Women-Centric Schemes

As part of the campaign, ‘Aangan Milan’ programmes will be organised at Anganwadi centres across the district for three days.

Under the ‘Seva Ki Kahani’ programme at Shakti Kendras, real stories of beneficiaries of government schemes will be shared on social media. The plan is to share at least 10 such reels from each Shakti Kendra.

Under ‘Seva Mera Yogdan’, party workers and members of the public will participate in at least 25 minutes of shramdaan across 25 types of service activities.

Rangoli competitions and street plays will also be organised to communicate information about government schemes and service initiatives to the public.

Seva Jyoti Kalash Yatra to Reach Rajnandgaon on September 29

The Seva Jyoti Kalash Yatra is also being organised as part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.

The yatra will begin from Vadnagar in Gujarat, the birthplace of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and travel to Kashi, his karmabhoomi. During the journey, the water of the river from Vadnagar will be used for the abhishek of Kashi Vishwanath.

The journey will subsequently begin again from Kashi and conclude at Vadnagar. During this phase, Gangajal will be offered at the Hatkeshwar Mahadev Temple located in the Prime Minister’s village.

The yatra will enter Chhattisgarh through Rajnandgaon on September 29, when it will receive a grand welcome in the city, also known as Sanskardhani.

Naveen Markandey said the yatra would also symbolise the connection between the Prime Minister’s political journey and his journey of public service.
