Chhattisgarh Rajbhasha Commission Donates Literary Works to Chakradhar Kathak Kalyan Kendra

Books on regional art, literature, and spirituality handed over to promote Chhattisgarhi language and culture among students

In a significant step to promote regional language and cultural education, the Chhattisgarh Rajbhasha Commission (Government of Chhattisgarh), Raipur, has presented a collection of Chhattisgarhi-language literary books to the Shri Chakradhar Kathak Kalyan Kendra. The organization, which has been actively engaged in classical dance and music education for over four decades, welcomed the donation with enthusiasm.

The books, totaling around 30 titles, were handed over to the center’s founder and director, Dr. Krishna Kumar Sinha, by Girish Thakkar (late), District Vice President of Chhattisgarh Sahitya Samiti, and veteran art and literature enthusiast Rakesh Indu Bhushan Thakur. These books include notable translations and original works such as Nirmala by Munshi Premchand (translated into Chhattisgarhi), Patanjali Yog Sutra, Indravati Nadi, Jai Chhattisgarh Dai, Mama Dai Ke Kahani, Mechka Raja, Machhari Rani, Baba Guru Ghasidas, and Zindagi Ke Kissa.

According to district coordinator Atmaram Kosha ‘Amatya’, similar contributions have previously been made to Digvijay College, Kamla College, and the District Library. This donation, he noted, is aimed at enriching the library facility at the Chakradhar Kathak Kendra, where a large number of students are engaged in learning classical dance, Chhattisgarhi folk arts, literature, culture, and traditional music.

In a special gesture, spiritual texts authored by Pt. Shriram Sharma Acharya, including Mar-Mar Kar Bhi Amar Hoga and Geet Mala, were also donated to help students deepen their understanding of religion and spirituality.

Director Dr. Krishna Kumar Sinha expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chhattisgarh Rajbhasha Commission for their generous support in preserving and promoting regional literature. Present at the event were the center’s secretary and classical dancer Tushar Sinha, Mrs. Geetanjali Sinha, and a large number of art and music students. The information was shared by Tushar Sinha.
