In line with the vision of Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chhattisgarh government has launched the Seva Setu Portal to promote good governance and digital governance across the state.

Through the Seva Setu Portal, citizens are being provided access to various government services operated by different departments from the comfort of their homes. The Collector has appealed to all citizens of the district, especially those residing in remote rural areas, to make maximum use of the portal for obtaining certificates, revenue-related services, and other government facilities instead of visiting district or block headquarters.

441 Government Services Available Online

Assistant Manager of District e-Governance Society Rajnandgaon, Ashish Swarnkar, informed that the Seva Setu Portal will make government services more accessible and convenient for citizens.

A total of 441 welfare-oriented services from different government departments have been integrated into this unified digital platform. These include:

  • Caste certificates
  • Residence certificates
  • Income certificates
  • Revenue-related services
  • Ration card services
  • Marriage certificates
  • Gazette publication for name change
  • Various social security pension schemes

The primary objective of this digital initiative is to make government services completely transparent, hassle-free, and time-bound.

Online Tracking and Time-Bound Service Delivery

The portal also allows applicants to track the status of their applications online. Officials stated that a fixed timeline has been prescribed for every service to ensure that public works are completed without unnecessary delays.

Earlier, only 86 services were available under the e-District project in Chhattisgarh. Considering the growing need for digital public services, the upgraded Seva Setu platform has now expanded the number of services to 441.

Officials said the expansion has made administrative procedures more organized, efficient, and transparent.

Major Relief for Rural and Remote Citizens

The state government’s digital initiative is expected to prove especially beneficial for citizens living in rural and remote areas.

Villagers will no longer be required to travel to district or block headquarters for small certificates and government-related work. Citizens can now avail themselves of services through nearby Seva Setu centres or directly via their mobile phones and computers.

Towards ‘Minimum Government, Maximum Governance’

The government stated that the portal reflects its commitment to the principle of “Minimum Government, Maximum Governance.”

The initiative is expected to save both time and money for citizens while ensuring accountability in service delivery. Authorities said that responsibility will be fixed for officials found negligent in providing services within the prescribed timelines.

The administration aims to ensure that the benefits of this digital facility reach even the last person in the district.
